Cigars absorb the environment aromas. In other words, they absorb not only the aroma of the interior lining of the humidor, but also the ones from other cigars storing there. Dividers are used, precisely, to diminish this phenomenon. However, in order to avoid any flavor mixture, cigars should be stored in different humidifiers or in cabinet humidifiers, where they can be stored in their original boxes.
Even though some people fond of cigars appreciate the mixture of the cigars they like the most and store them together for several months, in general, it should be avoided putting different kind of cigars together (especially the ones made in different countries) as much as is possible.
Cigars can be kept in cellophane wrapping or inside their original boxes in the cabinet humidifier preventing aroma mixture.
